This exhibition examines a theme that has been central to the iconography of photography since the invention of the medium : the representation of the body unveiled in the genre of the nude. The aim of this initiative is to present major developments and innovative figures in the history of photography. This would not have been possible, conservative efforts apart, if photography were only a part of an exhibition including every type of media. It was the intention of the curator to dedicate equal attention to the incubabula of photography and to the presentation of never-before-published material.
